The Material MCP Server empowers AI agents to seamlessly manage cloud workspace security, autonomously triaging and remediating issues without the need for custom integration.

Today we're launching the Material MCP server.

Instead of building a custom integration between your AI tooling and Material, you point your agent at the MCP endpoint and it figures out what to do from there.

What's available now

As of today, all customers of Material have access to an MCP server that their agents can use to query Material security issues and filter them by type, detection category, and severity. It can drill into a specific issue and pull message-level detail. And it can act: updating issue status, classification, or remediation directly, with or without a human in the loop based on your preferences.

New capabilities ship automatically, and the agent discovers them the moment they're live. No updates required.

Cloud workspace security MCP: next steps

The operating model for security work is changing. The old assumption was that humans ran the tools and made every decision in a product UI. The new reality is that agents handle more of the routine work — triaging, researching, acting on known patterns.

The MCP server is a big step forward in how Material enables customers to achieve that level of autonomous remediation.

We're building toward a security operation where your AI agent can pull context from Material, investigate an issue, apply a remediation, and surface only the exceptions that need a human without anyone writing integration code or routing tickets. Most security work isn't hard. It's relentless. That's exactly what agents are for.

Want to see what it looks like to connect your cloud workspace security to the AI agents your team uses every day? Request a free trial of Material, or reach out to your Material CSM to see how to set it up.
